All judiciary, in all states, are elected and so have a party allegiance. If Merchan was replaced it could be by another Dem or a Republican.Also biased. possibly. That's why they have grand juries. Plus the ability to challenge jurors. as we have seen. It's no better, of worse, than our system.

And all this is a diversion from the case.Did he fabricate the record of the hush money payments made to Daniels? Cohen says he did, and went to prison for doing so. They will struggle to get past his evidence.

In the name of sanity how can you determine that anyone’s political leanings must affect how they do their job. Certainly if you have some political activist standing in judgement then that is most definitely a cause for concern, that is not the case here, unlike so many other cases involving Trump.

Judge Merchan is already well within his rights and the law, to throw Trump in jail due to his comments and attacks on others, if anything Trump is getting more lenient treatment than just about anyone else ever.

You omit to mention that Judge Merchan previously declared all this to the appellant court judges they cleared him of any charge of bias and gave him clearance to continue.

Don’t know about you but I reckon the decisions of the appellant judges, who incidentally are a panel of independent judges, rather more significant than a speculative statement from any TV broadcaster, come on get real, while your at it take a look at the activities of the Trump gang and Fox News, who managed to glean enough information to identify one of the jurors. Then did a segment of harassment and intimidation, where the lady felt threatened and had to withdraw, I suppose in your world that’s OK.

Incidentally I am fairly sure that the CNN. Report was rather more an expression of concern that this info would be used as a get out clause from the Trump mob.
